LONG BEACH, Calif. - March 6, 2019 - (Newswire.com)
Belal Hamideh Law, an accident attorney in Long Beach, reminds pedestrians, walkers and parents to exercise greater caution when at or near school zones and bus stops. He said that in late 2018, there was an uptick in accidents in these areas, which potentially could have been prevented through greater safety awareness.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration put out a statement in November 2018 “urging motorists to exercise caution and follow State laws when approaching a school bus or school crossing.” This was due to accidents in Kentucky, Mississippi, Indiana, Florida, Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Recommendations from the NHTSA included slowing down in these areas and being wary of children, as they can run unexpectedly into the street. They went on to say that flashing yellow lights indicate the bus will stop, while flashing red lights indicate it has.
“Obviously, we all want to be as cautious as we can at bus stops and school zones. However, in southern California, we’re all busy, too. No matter how badly you want to be on time to where you’re headed, it’s always worth it to exercise the utmost caution when you’re anywhere near a school or bus stop,” said Hamideh.
In addition to handling personal injury cases, Belal Hamideh is also a workers compensation attorney in Long Beach. With years of experience, the firm helps a wide variety of people to receive compensation for their injuries.
