Hanalei, a Hawaii-based company that specializes in creating gentle, restorative skincare products inspired by Hawaii’s lush, tropical landscape, and native botanicals, announced the launch of its Help Hawaii Artisans campaign. The company established a support fund to offer grants to local artisans who’ve been impacted by COVID-19. Selected artisans will virtually share their locally inspired art forms with fans of the brand from all over the world.
“Hawaii’s tourism market was hit severely by the COVID-19 outbreak, which put many talented, local creative minds out of work," said Alice Kim, founder of Hanalei. "Through this fund, we hope to be able to stand together, even when we must stay apart so that we can spread the spirit of Aloha the best way we know how.”
Fascinated by Hawaii’s vast nature, diverse local ecosystem, and rich culture, Hanalei was founded by Kim in 2015. The brand's simple skincare is a reflection of Hawaii and its healing botanicals. Hanalei now aims to deliver an even richer experience of Hawaii to its fans by supporting the local community during this unique time.
Artisans who practice a local art form can apply online now until June 9, 2020. Applicants must be 18 years or older and must reside in the state of Hawaii. Selected applicants will be contacted for the next steps.
